Surgical Solutions for Skin Cancer and Growths
Craig Singer MD Dermatology offers comprehensive care for your skin, including a variety of dermatologic surgical procedures. Dr. Singer performs surgery on the skin in a safe and relaxed environment with the use of local anesthetic.
We understand that many patients have anxiety when it comes to surgery. That’s why we take the time to explain the details of the procedure and answer any questions. We confirm that the surgical site is completely anesthetized prior to the start of the procedure. Furthermore, we ensure that the patient is comfortable during surgery. Sedation (general or conscious) is considered unnecessary in the vast majority of skin surgical procedures. If you have concerns, we are happy to discuss these with you at any time.
We perform the following dermatologic surgeries and procedures:
- Skin cancer excision (including excision of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and non-invasive melanoma)
- Mole excision, Benign or Dysplastic
- Cyst drainage
- Sebaceous Cyst complete removal
- Scalp pilar cyst removal
- Removal of small to medium sized fatty tumors (lipomas)
- Removal of precancerous lesions (actinic keratosis)
- Destruction of age spots and benign keratoses
- Removal of other benign lesions
- Extraction of milia
- Removal of skin tags
- Destruction of oil glands (sebaceous hyperplasia)
*Please note that insurance companies consider skin tag removal, milia extraction, and destruction of seborrheic keratosis as a cosmetic (non-covered) procedure.
Mohs Surgery
Dr. Singer works closely with an off-site Mohs surgeon for those skin cancers in high risk areas of the face, scalp, legs, and hands.
